EZ Pass Expands to North Carolina

From a press release today:

E-ZPASS EXPANDS TO NORTH CAROLINA

E-ZPass holders will be able to use their tags at North Carolina toll
facilities starting on Thursday, January 3, 2013, the New York State
Thruway Authority announced today.

E-ZPass customers will be able to travel from North Carolina to Maine,
or west to Illinois utilizing the convenience of electronic tolling.
E-ZPass is already accepted in 14 states throughout the northeast and
mid-Atlantic regions.

Currently, more than two-thirds of all New York State Thruway
customers use E-ZPass, which provides a five-percent discount on all
tolls for E-ZPass users. Motorists can get more information about
E-ZPass or sign up on line at
http://www.thruway.ny.gov/ezpass/index.html.

Drivers of passenger cars may also purchase E-ZPass On-the-Go
pre-packaged passenger car tags. E-ZPass On-the-Go is available at
Thruway Travel Plazas and at more than 580 E-ZPass On-the-Go retail
locations across New York, including grocery stores, gas stations,
convenience stores, many county clerk and Department of Motor Vehicle
offices, Automobile Association of America travel centers, auto
dealers and college bookstores.
