International Women’s Day 2015 Capital Region Celebration

Albany - On Sunday, March 8th from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, please join the International Women’s Day Capital Region Committee as we celebrate all women. The event will take place at the Opalka Gallery, 140 New Scotland Avenue in Albany.

Do you know a woman who makes it happen? Bring her as a guest and join us in recognizing accomplished women from all over the Capital Region. Participants include artists, farmers, vintners, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, authors, musicians, political leaders and religious leaders. An international delegation representing Angola and Mozambique will be in attendance. Many women-owned/managed restaurants will be providing samples as well as the owner of the Hudson Chatham Winery.

At 3:00 PM a formal program will be offered featuring City of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, All Over Albany’s Mary Darcy, and UAlbany Professor of Journalism and panelist on WAMC’s The Media Project Rosemary Armao serving as the keynote speaker.

The event is FREE and open to the public.  For additional information, please contact the International Center of the Capital Region at (518) 708-7608.
